Universities offer editors various kinds of work opportunities. University staff and students struggle to write clearly, and often need our help, particularly where the writing has high stakes in persuading or shaping behaviour. Australia has 41 universities, and despite gradually reduced real funding over the decades, they still have money to engage editors. Also, individual staff and students may pay for editing help with crucial texts. Dr Kai Jensen discusses the sorts of editing work universities, their staff and students are willing to pay for, how to get this work, and how it’s changing.
