The Janet Mackenzie Medal (the Mackenzie) is IPEd’s most prestigious award. It recognises the outstanding achievements and contributions of a current or past IPEd Professional Member to the editing profession, particularly in lifting standards and/or giving exemplary service to IPEd.
If you intend to nominate an editor for the Mackenzie, please email a Notice of Intent by COB 17 October to firstname.lastname@example.org, letting Nicole Mathers know who you will be nominating.
The nomination instructions are available to download from the IPEd website Awards page.
Although you will inform the editor you are nominating (because their agreement and input are necessary), nominations are otherwise confidential.
Nominations for the 2023 Mackenzie close on 31 October 2022.
The Rosie recognises excellence in editing, as demonstrated in one published work, with testimony from the work’s author, publisher and editor. Nominations for the award can come from any of these parties. The winner of the Rosie receives a cash prize of $4000.
If you intend to nominate an editor for the Rosie, please email a Notice of Intent by COB 7 October to email@example.com, letting Nicole Mathers know the names of the editor, author and publisher, and the title of the work for which the editor is being nominated.
Nominations for the 2023 Rosie close on 21 October 2022.
Note that there are two different nomination closing dates for the two awards.
