From the Working Party on Artificial Intelligence
IPEd’s Working Party on Artificial Intelligence (WPAI) is continuing work on several projects examining the impact of AI on the editing profession.
Current initiatives include developing guidance on the ethical use of AI tools and working with AI-generated text. We are also collaborating with the University of Melbourne on research comparing AI editing software with human editing, alongside an industry survey. These projects aim to support editors in navigating the evolving role of AI in professional editing. We’ll share further updates with members as this work progresses.
