Macros help editors earn more money in the same time frame. They speed up making routine copyedits and increase your accuracy.
For those who want to learn to use macros but are too intimidated, the next Macro A to Z course through the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) begins on 18 April. This dual-level six-week course is designed both for editors who have never used macros and those who do, and want to get more out of them. No programming is required – you just need to be able to copy and paste. It’s applicable to both PC and Mac users.
IPEd members receive a discount for all EFA courses. You can access the discount code from the member discounts page in your IPEd member portal.
If you have any questions, contact the course instructor, Jennifer Yankopolus, at email@example.com. You can also sign up for the Macro of the Month newsletter to learn about one new macro each month and other training opportunities; beginners welcome.
