11th IPEd Editors Conference – 2–9 May 2023

When we first decided on the theme of the 11th IPEd Editors Conference two years ago, we had no idea that ChatGPT would dominate the headlines in 2023. As we read about the rise of AI tools, and helped champion cultural intelligence in editing and inclusive publishing, we sensed that the industry was on the brink of change.

The theme of our conference is “Futureproofing the editing profession” and we’ll be delving into the challenges and opportunities facing the editing and publishing industry. We’re proud of the program we’ve put together. It includes renowned industry leaders such as Dr Sandra Phillips, Associate Professor of Indigenous Australian Studies and Publishing Studies, Western Sydney University; Joel Naoum, Head of Trade Product, Booktopia; and Martin Delahunty, Founder and Managing Director of Inspiring STEM (former global director at Springer Nature).

Our program also includes workshop presenters and speakers from IPEd (who are each respected industry leaders in their own right) such as Dr Renée Otmar, Julie Ganner, Dr Agata Mrva-Montoya, Maryanne Park AE, Kayt Duncan and Rebs Harris AE. IPEd patron and Emeritus Professor Roland Sussex OAM also recently joined our stellar line-up.

Please note, our workshops are capped at 30 spots each and won’t be recorded. We do offer workshop package registrations, so please book soon to avoid disappointment. Also, just a reminder that our super earlybird rate ends on 9 March, so don’t forget to register.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic conference and to seeing all of you there!

Membership survey about how you manage your business finances

We’re always looking to improve our membership benefits and ways in which to better support members and are looking at tools that might help.

Here is a two-question survey about how you manage your business finances (or don’t!). We’re interested to know which tools and resources would be most useful to you, whether it’s professional development focused live webinars with industry experts, access to written content covering advice relevant topics or membership discounts for products and services that help to keep your finances organised.

We’ll be running our survey for a month – please click on the survey link to complete it.
