The winning titles are:

We also have a wonderful article from long-time member, Sylvia Bauer. Her article is a lot of fun! Sylvia is a delight, and I’m always pleased to see her name pop up in my inbox or see her in an online event.

Stay warm and dry as we head into winter. And if you happen to be heading to the northern hemisphere, well, lucky you!

Remember to keep in touch with EdANZ through our Facebook page.

Meet your EdANZ committee members: Rina Wongpanich

By Rina Wongpanich

In 2014, when I decided to train as an editor I had already spent 30-odd years in the sciences, first as a

I’ve always been fascinated by language and how the right words can bring clarity, confidence and connection. But it wasn’t until 2019, when my family moved to Thailand for my husband’s work, that I discovered copyediting as a craft. A volunteer role with a parenting magazine for expat families opened the door, and I quickly realised how much I enjoyed helping people shape their ideas into something polished and engaging.

To strengthen my skills, I completed a diploma in proofreading and editing and gained experience through volunteer projects and skill swaps with other freelancers. That chapter not only sharpened my editing but also grew my small freelance business and my love for supporting writers from all walks of life.

I specialise in proofreading and editing reports, marketing material, and web and social media content for small businesses. I also enjoy working on book manuscripts. Editing feeds my curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Each project gives me an insight into how different writers think, communicate and express their ideas. Their voices broaden my own perspective.

I’m currently working in corporate marketing and communications, so these days my editing work happens on the side. Staying connected with other editors is important to me, and I’m grateful for IPEd’s professional development opportunities and the chance to give back to the local community by helping EdANZ. After a role as the EdANZ budget officer, I’m now the social media lead.
