IPEd

The conference is just one month out!

We’d like to share some important information in the lead up to the conference.

Conference session recordings

If you register for the conference but aren’t able to attend all the sessions, fear not! You can access the session recordings for three months after the conference finishes. Our conference has a fantastic program featuring a range of experts, so access to these recordings represents excellent value.

All speaker sessions from 3 to 9 May will be recorded and made available to registrants.

Recordings will not be available for sale after the conference and are only available to conference registrants.

Workshops have limited places

Just a reminder that our professional development workshops on 2 May are capped at 30 spots each and will not be recorded. We do offer workshop package registrations, so please book soon to avoid disappointment.

Our workshops on 2 May are below:

  • “Write Limited’s workshop for emerging editors” with Write Limited Training Manager Thomas McGrath
  • “Futureproofing your business: Strategies for getting a steady supply of enquiries as a freelance editor” with editor and mindset coach Malini Devadas
  • “Beyond Word: Open-source editing tools” with Biotext writer, editor and training manager Darren Goossens
  • “Writing and editing the ‘other’ in fiction and creative non-fiction” with editor, public health researcher and ethicist Dr Renée Otmar.

Trivia night – test your knowledge, have fun and a win prize

As part of the conference, we’re holding a trivia night on 2 May 2023. This is an opportunity to kick back, test your knowledge, have fun, meet some of your conference peers in a social setting and win a prize. The trivia evening will include time in Zoom break-out rooms so you’ll get the opportunity to meet a few other conference delegates in a relaxed setting.

As well as providing professional development opportunities, our conferences have always offered a chance to network and socialise with like-minded peers. We’d love you to be part of it. To sign up for our trivia evening, please register here.

Networking opportunities reminder

If you’ve already registered for the conference and haven’t filled out the special interest group form, please don’t forget to complete the two-question survey that we’ve emailed you.

Write Limited and Biotext sponsor our conference

We are delighted to announce that Write Limited and Biotext have become bronze sponsors of the 11th IPEd Editors Conference, in addition to bronze sponsor Monash University Publishing. Here’s a little information about our newest sponsors.

Write Limited has been using the power of words for good since 1989 and helps clients make their written messages clear. Its clients are government agencies, companies large and small, and NGOs and not-for-profit organisations. It’s the founding sponsor and host of New Zealand’s Plain Language Awards, which promote and celebrate plain language in public, legal, financial, and health information.

Biotext is a team of content experts, specialising in scientific and complex information. Established in 1999, Biotext has become a leader in science information in Australia. It developed the Australian manual of style to provide a complete guide to writing, editing and presenting information across a variety of disciplines. Its services include content strategy, design and development, writing and editing, and it offers on-site and online courses.

We would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the conference and the work of IPEd. Your contribution allows us to advance the profession.
