11th IPEd conference update

We hope to make exciting announcements soon about keynote speakers planned for the 11th IPEd Editors Conference. For upcoming announcements about our super earlybird rates, please follow us on social media.

We’re continuing to search for corporate sponsors. If you know of a business that may be interested in supporting our conference, which is focused around our theme of futureproofing the editing profession, please contact me at ceo@iped-editors.org.

Expressions of interest for Standards diversity review

The Standards Working Party is seeking expressions of interest from IPEd members with knowledge and experience in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to review the draft third edition of IPEd’s Standards for Editing Practice.

Our diversity specialist needs to have a deep understanding of DEI principles, and be able to relate these to editing practice today.

If this opportunity interests you, please:

  • email your EOI to Nicole Mathers at secretary@iped-editors.org by 4 pm (AEDT) on 7 December 2022
  • include a summary of your relevant experience or qualifications and a fee estimate.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

To our board, volunteers, all our members and staff, thank you for working with us this year. I appreciate your patience as various key staff and volunteers experienced COVID-19 and underwent other extenuating circumstances.

The office will be closed from 23 December and re-open on 9 January 2023. I wish you all a safe and joyous Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you’re able to make it, I encourage you to come along to your local branch’s end-of-year gathering and get to know or spend time with your fellow members.

Warm regards
Karen Lee
