Conference update

Editing on the edges: The IPEd Conference 2021 is only three months away and counting. The EdTas conference committee is busy creating an online program that is bursting at the seams with a full workshop schedule, outstanding keynotes and presenters. While super-early-bird rates finish on 1 April, early-bird rates start from 2 April and continue to offer excellent value for money.

A virtual delegate satchel is being prepared with all kinds of goodies from sponsors and other sources, and a blog post will come out soon about understanding the difference between Zoom meetings and webinars.

New Facebook group

We’ve created a new FB group for people registered to attend, speak or volunteer at the conference. It will be a place where people can ask questions or arrange get-togethers. We hope it will also help us to identify questions we need to answer via other channels such as blog posts or Twitter.

Volunteers

All sessions will be Zoom meetings or webinars. We need volunteer hosts to introduce speakers, and support Q&A and live polls when that is required (two hosts per session). Training will be provided. The time commitment will be a maximum of two training and rehearsal sessions and the session you are rostered to.

Tasmanian members have already responded very generously with offers of assistance, but we need more hands on deck. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Tay Winchester (projects@iped-editors.org).
