Note from the Branch President
by Lauren Bevilacqua
I hope you’re enjoying the new IPEd-wide newsletter and online events that branches are currently hosting. It’s been great to see what our colleagues across IPEd are doing and be able to join events hosted by other branches. If you haven’t joined any online events yet, I’d encourage you to give it a try. Also, if there’s something you’d like to see in the newsletter or you want to contribute a piece of your own, please contact our communication and marketing coordinator, Lauren Pitman, at edsa.comms@iped-editors.org
As we head into the second half of 2020, I’d like to encourage you with the many good things happening at Editors SA despite not having been able to meet in person for a while. We have another book club event coming up in July, which I’m personally looking forward to a lot. Great news: the IPEd Accreditation Exam is going ahead this year with plans to have an exam venue in Adelaide. Look out for more information about exam preparation events soon or contact our SA delegate on the Accreditation Board, Jo Vabolis AE, at edsa.ab@iped-editors.org to find out more.
As always, if you would like to get in touch with your branch committee, please email me at edsa.president@iped-editors.org — we’d love to hear from you.
Happy editing and I hope to see you at an online event soon.

Welcome to new member
We are pleased to welcome new Associate Member Camilla Smolicz.
We hope you enjoy being part of Editors SA and take advantage of IPEd’s national networks. We look forward to seeing you at our workshops and other events throughout the year. Familiarise yourself with Zoom to get the most out of 2020’s offerings — there will be a lot more distance events this year.
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and keep an eye on our website for updates. The national newsletter will keep you informed of local and Australia-wide news and events. These are all good forums for socialising and networking and, of course, provide opportunities to build your knowledge and expertise.
Get involved and don’t be shy. We’re thrilled to have you on board, Camilla.
