Standards Revision Working Group
Terms of reference: To research the current use of Australian Standards for Editing Practice and and their concordance with the proposed accreditation scheme, and suggest any necessary amendments.
The Standards Revision Working Group is charged with updating the Australian Standards for Editing Practice. The group is considering whether to embark on a more thorough revision to rewrite the document in a form that can be used for competency-based learning and training. This would enable the profession to meet demands from an industrial environment that is insisting on more formal vocational educational qualifications, but it is a large undertaking. The group will look into methods of tackling this project, including funding, timing, and coordination with the other working groups.
The work of the group is currently on hold until all details of the accreditation scheme are finalised, but it will, when its activities resume, welcome more members, especially people with expertise in developing training packages.
